Parnham Voices

Parnham Voices is a chamber choir in West Dorset. Mark Burstow became its Musical Director in June 2026.

It is a choir of around twenty voices, evenly balanced across the parts, singing unaccompanied music from the fifteenth century to the present day. Its programmes set the music alongside poetry and readings, so that each concert is shaped as a whole rather than as a sequence of items.

The choir reads confidently at sight, which leaves rehearsal time for what matters most: independence within each part, a real understanding of the text, and a well-tuned, resonant tone, with careful attention to vowels and diphthongs and to acoustically pure intervals.

There is currently a vacancy for one tenor. If you are a tenor who reads well and would enjoy this kind of singing, please get in touch: 07826 444571 or markburstow@icloud.com.
